Performance feedback and productivity: Evidence from a field experiment

چکیده

We theorize that employees use the performance feedback they receive to reassess their beliefs about marginal benefit of effort, which may lead them increase or reduce effort. To test our model, we conduct a field experiment at distribution center Fortune 500 firm where individual pay, and study two types feedback, relative. The results show react content in way is consistent with model: They effort if information provided implies increasing high decrease it learn low. Moreover, has greater impact on lower quantiles productivity.
